Electrical Engineer Job Description

SG Allied Businesses Limited is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer with a strong background in controls and automation for our location in SITE, Karachi. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing new electrical systems, diagnosing electrical faults, and maintaining the existing electrical infrastructure. The candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for leading installation of new equipment on site, training and mentoring staff, creating work schedules, providing technical assistance, and troubleshooting system issues. The candidate will also be required to maintain and repair the electrical equipment used on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, installing and commissioning electrical equipment like panel boards, enclosures, or any other electrical systems
  • Supervising a team of electrical technicians
  • To maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects.
  • To ensure that work complies with all safety requirements.
  • To estimate the time and materials needed to complete projects.
  • To supervise the technicians as they work, and provide guidance and instructions as needed.
  • Preparing and assigning work schedules
  • Ensuring proper handling and maintenance of electrical equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and other technical documentation
  • Ensure electrical systems are compliant with industry standards and regulations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements
  • Provide technical support to other departments as needed
  • Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and control systems technology
  • Monitoring and handling inventory purchases
  • Estimating and preparing budgets
  • Documenting all inventory purchases
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating performances of new employees
  • Supervising on-site electrical operations and reporting any major issues to the senior management

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.

Required Skills:

  • Strong management capabilities, time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interdepartmental coordination and resource allocation.
  • Have a strong eye for attention to detail.
  • Quick learner.
  • Can take initiative to solve problems without ANY oversight whatsoever.
  • Willingness to work extended hours
  • Willingness and ability to mentor and teach others
  • Minimum job experience of 4 years with a background in controls and automation
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Possess a high level knowledge of basic electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, EOCR’s, contactors, etc
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
